Crispy Easter Bunny Treats are adorable, delicious, and quick to make. These little bunnies with fluffy “cotton” tails are irresistibly cute—kids will love them!
I’m pausing my usual posts about little girls’ rooms this week to share a festive, family-friendly recipe. With Easter coming up and spring finally arriving—sunny skies and warmer temperatures—it felt like the perfect time to make a simple seasonal treat.

Bunny-shaped Rice Krispies Treats® are a fun hands-on activity to do with little ones. They’re easy to shape, decorate, and share—perfect for a kids’ Easter party, classroom snack, or an afternoon at home. My daughter and I had a blast making these, and they were gone in no time!

What you’ll need:
- One batch of Rice Krispies Treats® made according to the cereal box instructions
- Bunny-shaped cookie cutter (a separate small circle or fluffy-tail cutter helps)
- Icing or buttercream for decorating (store-bought is fine when short on time)
- Food coloring to tint the icing if desired
- Icing bags or disposable freezer bags for piping
- Optional: lollipop sticks if you want treat-on-a-stick (see tips below)
How to Make the Bunny Treats

Start by preparing one batch of Rice Krispies Treats® following the package directions. Once mixed and pressed into a pan, allow the treats to cool and set until they are firm enough to cut without crumbling. Cooling on a flat, greased or parchment-lined surface helps you get clean shapes.

Use the bunny cookie cutter to press shapes out of the cooled Rice Krispies layer. If your cutter sticks, lightly grease it or dip it in warm water and dry before each cut for smoother edges. If you have a separate small cutter for the fluffy tail, cut those too.
Prepare your icing next. While I usually make homemade buttercream, store-bought decorating icing works well when you’re short on time. Tint portions of the icing with food coloring to get pastel shades or classic white for the tail. For a smoother spreading consistency, thin store-bought icing slightly with a teaspoon of warm water at a time until it reaches the right texture. Be careful not to add too much water.

A simple piping bag substitute is a freezer storage bag: fill the bag, snip a very small corner off, and pipe with steady, gentle pressure. Wrapping the bag tip with a bit of tape keeps the opening tidy when you’re working with thicker icing. After piping, you can smooth or spread the icing with a toothpick or small offset spatula to even out the surface.
Attach the small icing-covered tail to the bunny’s rear with a dab of icing and hold for a few seconds so it adheres. Add eyes, a nose, or other details with colored icing or small candies if you like. Keep decorations simple for younger children and let them personalize their bunnies.

If you’d like treats on sticks, gently insert a lollipop stick into the base of each bunny. Note: Rice Krispies treats can be a bit fragile on a stick, so tray presentation is usually more practical and just as charming. If you do use sticks, press a small amount of extra icing around the insertion point to help secure the treat.
Display your bunnies on a platter or in a decorative box for gifting. These crispy bunny treats are bright, playful, and made in minutes—great for last-minute party favors, classroom treats, or a family baking activity. Enjoy making them with kids, and have fun experimenting with colors and decorations for a festive Easter spread.
