We’re Expecting Baby #2 — A Pregnancy Announcement and Our Journey
Hello, friends! It’s been a while, and I’ve missed connecting here. Life has been a bit quieter around the blog lately, and if you noticed that—or even if you didn’t—I wanted to share what’s been going on behind the scenes.
For the past several months I’ve been less motivated and unusually tired. I mentioned being lazy and unproductive before, but the real reason was that I’ve been dealing with pregnancy symptoms: nausea, exhaustion, and a need for lots of naps. Now I can finally share the joyful news that Coach and I are expecting our second child!

This pregnancy is the result of a long and sometimes painful two-year journey. If you’ve followed our story for a while, you know we faced challenges including secondary infertility and the heartbreak of miscarriages. Those experiences changed me; they forced me to slow down, to grieve, and to redefine what it meant to hope. I learned that blessings can come in many forms, and that patience and trust are part of the process.

During the time we were trying, my focus narrowed to wanting another baby so badly that it felt all-consuming. Over time God taught me a gentle but powerful lesson: good gifts don’t always arrive in the form you expect. I had to open my eyes to the many blessings already present in our lives—family, health, the love that surrounds us—and learn to be grateful for each one, even while still longing for a child.
Now that this little one is on the way, I’m filled with gratitude. I’m also learning to honor the physical reality of early pregnancy—resting when I need to, eating in ways that help my nausea, and cherishing the small comforts that make each day easier. The fog of fatigue won’t last forever; I’m looking forward to the second trimester and hoping my energy returns soon.

One of those small, everyday blessings has been the simple convenience of expectant-parent parking—something that has felt surprisingly luxurious when balancing fatigue and everyday life. Little comforts like this have made early pregnancy more manageable and helped me feel supported and cared for.
We move forward with hope and cautious excitement. After the losses and the waiting, this pregnancy feels like a tender answer—one I don’t take for granted. I’m celebrating the moments of joy and leaning into rest when my body asks for it. I’m also thankful for the love and encouragement we’ve received from family and friends along the way.
I hope to have the energy soon to return to projects and share more updates, home projects, and everyday life on the blog. In the meantime, I’m soaking up this season: resting, eating well enough to manage nausea, and anticipating the second trimester with relief. Thank you for being here and for sharing in our joy.
