A neutral Christmas entryway with simple decor can make every guest feel welcome.
You don’t need extravagant decorations to create a festive welcome. This year I kept my entryway intentionally simple: I flocked an old Christmas tree, placed it on the front stoop, and added a few cherished items. Small touches like these give the space a warm, seasonal feel without overwhelming it.
I resisted the urge to fill every corner. Keeping things minimal made the stoop feel calm and inviting. You can get a festive look with just a few well-chosen pieces rather than decorating every surface.
My front stoop looks much like it did last year, anchored by the same pre-lit burlap wreath. I love that the wreath’s lights are on a timer so they come on at the same hour each evening and stay lit for several hours. I picked mine up at Lowe’s a few years ago, and while I couldn’t find an exact match this season, the style is timeless and still works beautifully.
I used leftover flocking from the main tree to refresh an old artificial tree and set it outside beside a few familiar decor pieces. That extra flocking made the little tree feel cohesive with the rest of our holiday decor. I’ll likely bring that tree inside in a few days—maybe into the kitchen or my daughter’s room—since I’m not certain how long the flocking will hold up outdoors.
The only new item I bought for this area was a doormat from the Hearth & Hand collection. It was time for a new mat and this one fits the neutral aesthetic nicely. I do have another outdoor rug arriving soon that I love, so I might move this mat to the garage door and swap it out when the new rug arrives.
A wooden tray with beaded handles anchors a small vignette on the console table, and birch bark candles add a natural, wintry touch. A trio of bottle brush trees keeps the display simple and seasonally appropriate—these pieces can stay in place all winter and still feel fresh.
I’ve also included a few recent closet favorites in this post: a pair of blush slippers and a chunky blush cardigan. A rustic lantern I picked up previously now sits on the table and helps tie the farmhouse-inspired decor together.

I added an “O Holy Night” print that I absolutely adore; it gives the table a soft, reflective focal point. A white rustic tree on the other side balances the composition—this tree came from Hobby Lobby a year or two ago and still fits the neutral farmhouse look.
I like positioning a tree in the right corner of the living room so guests see it as they enter—that first glimpse always feels magical.
The advent calendar on the wall is a DIY project I completed earlier this year. It adds a cheerful pop of traditional reds and greens alongside my favorite softer blues and pinks, which I love mixing in for a personal touch.
You’ll also get a peek at my wrapping station. I revived an old college desk with white chalk paint, transforming it from a forgotten piece into a useful workspace. It now serves as a handy spot for wrapping, homework, or a bit of evening work while still keeping me close to my husband when he relaxes in the living room.
