Welcome to my Christmas home tour! This is one of my favorite posts of the year, and I’m excited to share how I’ve decorated our home for the season.
Between painting cabinets and looking after my two little ones, finding time to decorate, tidy up and take photos was a challenge. I even bribed my almost five-year-old to keep her younger sister in her room while I snapped pictures—well spent, in my opinion. 🙂
I love dressing up the house for the holidays, but full disclosure: with an eleven-month-old who explores everything, the house rarely stays this tidy for long. These photos capture the brief window when everything was in place—30 minutes of holiday perfection.

The Mantel
This year I envisioned a simple, classic mantel: one large star and a hand-lettered sign. The mantel’s clean composition proves that a couple of larger decor pieces often make a stronger impact than lots of small items. I’ll share how I made the pallet sign in a separate tutorial.
My new flocked tree is another favorite—its texture and fullness really set the tone for the room.
Wreaths, Pillows and Small Touches
I fell for a burlap-and-pinecone wreath that already had little LED lights—perfect right out of the box. I added a few festive pillows and small accessories around the room to balance the larger pieces. One playful pillow reads “Falalalalala,” and a sparkly “JOY” pillow adds a bit of shimmer to the sofa.
Most of the bows and smaller decor were repurposed from last year. I did pick up a few faux poinsettias from a dollar section at a store and a galvanized centerpiece that fits our dining table well.
Vignettes and Personal Touches
A small vintage-inspired buggy with a tree print adds charm to a tabletop vignette. I’ve mixed store-bought pieces with handmade accents—like a navy plaid pillow I made from cloth napkins, which is a quick and budget-friendly DIY. I also wrapped a few simple gifts and tucked pajamas into the stockings as part of a new tradition: the kids open their holiday pajamas before Christmas so they can enjoy them for a few nights leading up to the big day.
The Tree
The flocked tree is decorated simply with red garland, burlap and red poinsettia ornaments, and a few wooden ski ornaments I found at a store’s seasonal section. Those little skis were everywhere this year, and I’m so glad I grabbed a set when I saw them.
Gallery Wall and Console
I’m sharing my newly arranged gallery wall and an Everett console table for the first time here. Time constraints meant I used gift bags and wrapping paper as temporary photo mats—an easy way to change the look quickly. I also wrapped a DIY abstract art piece with paper and a bow to transform it into a seasonal focal point.
Desk and Workspace
I moved my desk into the living room for now. While I usually prefer a separate office, right now it makes more sense to have my workspace where the family is. Above the desk, I filled frames with simple, free printables and strung a felt garland for a cheerful, handmade touch.
DIY Card Holder
I built a simple framed Christmas card holder from 1x2s and chicken wire last year. It’s an easy project—use a heavy-duty staple gun to attach the wire and have a helper hold the wire while you staple, since it can be a bit unruly.
