Gather your old and new spring decor, plus some beautiful faux-tanicals to decorate your spring tablescape!
I love refreshing the dining table for the season—especially in spring, when flowers and soft colors make everything feel new. Every year I pull together a mix of pieces from my decor stash: old favorites, a few new finds, and plenty of lifelike faux botanicals. If you struggle with real plants like I do, faux stems are a perfect, low-maintenance way to add fresh energy to a tabletop.
This year I’m hosting a supper club in a couple of weeks, so I planned the tablescape ahead of time. I kept the centerpiece pretty and seasonal, but intentionally left space down the middle of the table for dishes when guests arrive—no giant arrangements blocking conversation or the food.
I started with a tall turquoise blue vase as the focal point. I’d been watching for a vase with that color for a while, and when I found one it felt like the perfect starting point. Next came the faux floral stems—so realistic that they almost pass for fresh blooms—and I arranged them until the silhouette felt right.
One small snag: the stems didn’t reach the bottom of the vase, so the lower portion looked unfinished. I solved that by slipping the vase into a woven basket. It hid the cut stems, added texture, and layered visual interest—an easy repurpose from items I already own.
To flank the centerpiece I used a pair of faux boxwood arrangements in white buckets tucked into the basket for extra greenery. A simple bucket of greenery is a reliable spring accent that never goes out of style and pairs well with almost anything on the table.
My white plates are a go-to because they coordinate with every season and every color palette. They’ve been well-used for several years and are beginning to chip—that’s a reminder that investing in solid white dinnerware can pay off in longevity and versatility.
Under the plates I layered natural woven water hyacinth placemats for texture and a warm, organic feel. Those placemats are one of my seasonal staples and I especially love how their color and weave enhance spring and summer setups.
A metal-and-wood cake stand adds height and charm while keeping the overall look grounded. For soft accents, I used ball-pom napkins in blue and sage—the playful pom trim is a subtle spring detail that feels festive without being over the top. Little touches like colorful napkins lift the whole table.
My girls adore the pink bunny juice glasses we found at a home store—fun, seasonal drinkware is an easy way to make meals feel special, especially for kids. I also added a floral pillow with a vintage-style flower truck on a nearby chair for extra spring charm and a pop of blush and navy.
For place settings I placed small bundles of faux eucalyptus with berries and a decorative wooden egg at each plate—just a tiny, whimsical nod to the season. My husband teased me about offering “a wooden egg and a bunch of weeds” at each seat, but it’s all playful decor and creates a cohesive, seasonal look.
Behind the table sits a large DIY console I built a few years ago; it’s an ideal spot for storing seasonal decor and for styling additional spring pieces like a large wood-and-glass cloche and tiny potted orchids. Those small vignettes beside the table tie the room together and give guests something pretty to notice when they first arrive.
