Supplies Needed for Adding Cabinet Wreaths

• Mini wreath or wired garland to make a wreath—one per cabinet you want to decorate.
• Ribbon—about 2.5 feet (30 inches) per wreath is a good starting point. A two-inch-wide ribbon provides a classic, proportional look, but you can choose any width to match your decor.

How to Hang Cabinet Wreaths

If you purchase mini wreaths, you can skip straight to measuring and hanging. To make your own, form a 10–12 inch hoop from wired garland or small vine, secure the ends with floral wire, and tuck or glue in any extra sprigs or berries.

2. Decide where the wreaths will hang on the cabinet

I typically hang wreaths in the upper half or top third of the cabinet door so they’re visible but not in the way of handles. Mark the desired height on the inside of each door—that measurement will determine your ribbon length.

3. Attach the command strip hooks to the inside cabinet door

Place the command hook upside down on the inside of the cabinet door. Open the door, measure the center, then mark about two inches down from the top edge where the hook will sit. Fold the ribbon in half and either cut a small slit on each side about 2–3 inches from the ends (so the ribbon can slip over the hook), or tie a small knot at each end after threading the ribbon through the wreath. Both methods produce a secure loop that fits over the hook.

6. Hang up the wreaths

Place the ribbon over the wreath so both ends hang evenly, then slip the slit or knot over the command hook inside the cabinet. Gently close the door to check the front view and adjust the ribbon if needed. That’s it—fast and fuss-free.

This technique works on most cabinet doors, pantry doors, and even interior doors. Just ensure the command hook and ribbon can support the wreath’s weight—very heavy wreaths may need a more permanent hanger.
