I hope you enjoyed a lovely weekend celebrating Independence Day if you’re in the U.S. — and a warm hello to readers from around the world. Whether you marked the holiday with fireworks and backyard barbecues or spent the weekend quieter, I’m glad you’re here.
Our holiday weekend was full of family time, good food, a spectacular fireworks show, and more than a few rounds of mahjong. Playing together has become one of my favorite ways to connect, and those small rituals make gatherings feel especially meaningful.
This week we’re finishing up summer swim team, which always signals the gentle shift toward a new season. Even though school won’t start for a few weeks, I’ve already begun thinking about back-to-school shopping. Starting early takes the pressure off later and makes the transition back to routines much smoother.
If you like planning ahead for seasonal wardrobes and beauty essentials, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale begins this week — a perfect chance to pick up fall staples and shoes while they’re discounted. I always try to take advantage of early sales to refresh a few key pieces for the season ahead.
