Add plenty of pumpkins and fresh or faux greenery down the center of your table for a quick, effortless fall tablescape. Finish the look with a couple of topiaries or floral arrangements for a polished touch.
This season I chose simplicity—fewer pieces with more impact. Instead of clustering dozens of small accents, I focused on a handful of larger, cohesive elements to create a warm, seasonal centerpiece that still feels relaxed and inviting.

At first glance my tablescape may look abundant, but it really relies on just three key elements: pumpkins, greenery and stems, and bay leaf topiaries. Using what I already had—especially a sizable pumpkin collection from past seasons—made the process simple, budget-friendly, and sustainable.
My intention was to assemble an attractive centerpiece without shopping specifically for it. I started with the pumpkins I already own, arranged them down the center of the table, and layered in greenery and a few stemmed pieces to add texture and movement.
Note: I used a few affiliate products in the original styling; this write-up focuses on styling tips and sources rather than direct purchase links.

I used a light blue and cream striped runner as a neutral but interesting base. A soft striped runner works through multiple seasons, providing a subtle pattern that complements, rather than competes with, the centerpiece. If you don’t have that exact runner, choose a neutral table runner in similar tones to anchor the look.

To finish the center, I placed bay leaf topiaries at each end of the runner; they frame the display and add height and structure. Between them I grouped pumpkins of varying sizes and shapes, then tucked in stems and sprigs of greenery for a natural, layered effect. In the background I also used a simple dough bowl pumpkin arrangement that keeps the style cohesive throughout the space.

A large vintage-style blue mason jar filled with burgundy and cream fall stems sits in the middle of the table to add color and a focal point. The deep blue contrasts nicely with the warm tones of the pumpkins and brings an unexpected, elegant touch to the arrangement.

Under each place setting I used woven hyacinth placemats for texture and a natural foundation that complements the organic centerpiece. These chargers are a versatile base that works with many styles and seasons. For everyday practicality, I used turquoise melamine plates—durable for family use but stylish enough to look elevated.

Small finishing details keep the table feeling intentional: a miniature pumpkin placed in each bowl with a folded cloth napkin creates a simple, welcoming place setting. I plan to swap in gold flatware in the future for a warmer metallic accent, but the current setup works well with items I already own.

The result is a cheerful, approachable fall tablescape that feels abundant without being cluttered. Rely on a few statement items, repeat colors and textures, and layer varying heights to build interest.
