Tips on Printing Printable Art Decor
- Home printer: If you don’t have a reliable home printer, choose a color inkjet that handles photo-quality prints and cardstock. A dependable printer will save time and produce richer colors for watercolor and mixed-media designs.
- Use cardstock: I recommend printing on 65–110 lb cardstock instead of standard office paper. Cardstock gives the print more weight, resists creasing, and presents more professionally in a frame.
- Local print options: If you don’t have a printer at home, local print shops or office supply stores can print on heavier paper for you. They can also help if you want specific paper finishes or larger sizes.
- Scaling and trimming: The files are set to print at 100% with a small border to accommodate most frames. Many designs print on standard 8.5×11 paper; if you’re framing in an 8×10, trim the borders slightly for a perfect fit. If your print doesn’t fit your frame, try adjusting the scale in your printer settings.
- Note: Specific printer settings vary by brand and computer, so if you run into issues, test a single sheet first and adjust settings as needed.
