This shared girls’ bedroom vision board centers on a soft white, blush, and blue-green palette, balanced with playful patterns, florals, and layered textures. It’s a timeless combination that will grow with them.
In an earlier post about my home goals for the year, I mentioned wanting to refresh my daughters’ room by the end of June. We’ve already made significant progress and I’m excited to share the design vision for their shared space before I post room updates and progress photos.
Moving to the new house went smoothly overall, but the girls have missed the personalized decor of their former rooms. My oldest has been especially persistent about repainting the lime green bathroom walls that came with the house. I’m happy to report we’ve already painted the bedroom walls a warm blush/coral pink and ordered the new beds, so the makeover is well underway.
Our new home has two bedrooms for the girls. They chose to share the room with the ensuite bathroom and use the second bedroom as a playroom. We agreed to try the arrangement for a few months to see how it feels—and so far, it’s working beautifully.
Design Inspiration and Color Palette
The inspiration began with the beds and the wall color. While many start a room makeover with wallpaper or a patterned rug, I knew the blush paint and these loft-style beds would set the tone, so I began there. The palette blends blush pink with white and soft blue-greens, plus floral accents to keep the room feminine but fresh.
I plan to paper the adjoining bathroom with a watercolor floral wallpaper I love and am also considering using it on an accent wall in the bedroom. It’s a popular pattern for a reason: the soft botanicals feel youthful and elegant at once. Even though I hesitated because of its popularity, I kept coming back to it because it feels just right for two little girls sharing a space.
Makeover Plan
- Paint the bedroom walls in a warm blush tone (Pink Ground-style color). I sampled a shade and had it color-matched at the hardware store to get the exact look I wanted.
- Create an accent wall using either wallpaper or a stencil; the watercolor floral wallpaper will definitely be used in the adjoining bathroom.
- Install a loft bed with a full-size bed underneath so both girls have comfortable sleeping spaces. We recently set up the new beds and the girls absolutely love them.
- Use easy, kid-friendly bedding that zips on and off for quick bed-making—this makes daily life simpler and keeps the beds neat.
- Either buy a new dresser or repaint an existing one white to keep the palette light and cohesive.
- Reuse and repurpose decor from their previous rooms to retain familiar pieces and sentimental touches wherever possible.
- Hem the curtains to the correct length so they hang properly and complete the window treatment.
- Replace the existing ceiling fan with a modern model that has enclosed blades so the loft bed can sit closer to the ceiling without safety concerns.
Most of the work is relatively straightforward—painting, installing the beds, adding wallpaper, and arranging decor—but those updates will make a big difference. Since we’ve already completed several major steps, I expect the room to feel finished and fully personalized very soon.

Items and inspiration I’m using for the makeover include the full loft bed over full bed, a fan with enclosed blades, watercolor floral wallpaper, curtains, tassel garland, decorative pillows, an aqua ceramic lamp base and shade, and an extra-long dresser. I’m also incorporating DIY bookshelves and meaningful artwork to personalize the space.
